Research
Intense translational research, working directly in the service of care, led by the HepaReg laboratory.

The laboratory
Research is part of care. At the heart of the Centre, the HepaReg laboratory — "Physiopathogenesis and treatment of liver diseases" — carries out translational research: questions raised at the bedside shape the projects, and the results come back to care.
A joint research unit (Inserm UMR-S 1193) under Inserm and Université Paris-Saclay, HepaReg brings together five teams of researchers and clinicians, from liver transplantation to new therapies against fulminant hepatitis and primary liver cancers.
Translational research on liver diseasesResearch themes
From liver cancers to hepatitis and transplantation, HepaReg pursues translational research, from the laboratory to the bedside.
Understanding hepatocellular carcinoma and cholangiocarcinoma better, to develop new therapeutic strategies.
From the physiopathology of hepatitis — viral and fulminant — to innovative treatments and the management of liver failure.
Preserving and rehabilitating grafts with perfusion machines that keep the liver in near-physiological conditions — and sometimes repair it before transplantation.
Growing liver cells and organoids to model disease and explore new cell therapies.
A clinical research unit coordinates the trials and studies run at the Centre, to bring advances to patients quickly.
